Freshly frozen fish: The right ways to preserve and defrost them
Preservation
Freshly-frozen fish and seafood should be placed in the freezer as soon as possible after you buy it at -18°C. However, always carefully read and follow the instructions on their package.
Defrost
Defrosting of catches is best performed in the refrigerator, placed on a plate or container to avoid any loss of liquids. Alternatively, it can be made under flowing cold water, not warm or hot, or in a microwave oven, strictly following the instructions on the package.
Never freeze already frozen seafood and fish!
Wash your hands properly before and after holding them.
